Sonia Bose is a prolific composer whose works have been recorded by internationally renouned violinist Madeleine Mitchell and conductor Gabriella Teychenné.
Her works have been performed by established professional musicians and up and coming graduates from the Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music.
Sonia has been taught by Jeremy James Hunt, Alex Woolf, Kristina Arakelyan

Born in Calcutta, Sonia has been based in London for many years.
Composition started for her when receiving training in Indian classical vocal music as Raga demands a great deal of improvisation.
Sonia also completed a course on Indian classical vocal music from the prestigious music academy "Sangit Prayag" in India with 1st class and distinction in practical vocal music. Sonia gave Tabla recitals from the age of four to appeciative audiences in Calcutta.
In the UK Sonia has pursued a variety of musical studies.
She has received training in Lieder from Alan Mayall(Cantab).
She is an enthusastic violinist, cellist and pianist receiving lessons from Alison Strange, Christopher Rutland, Olesia Sablina, Nicola Siagri and Lucas Krupinski
Sonia has also pursued a career in life science and biochemistry with a doctorate in mathematical and statistical modelling of macromolecular degradation. Working as a research scientist in the areas of modern developing science and technology such as molecular genetics, microbiology, immunology and biochemistry.
Sonia has written a large body of work for orchestra and chamber. Her works are thought heavily influenced by Romantic period with her own style and a touch of modernity. A selection of performances are viewable on the media page.
As well has her interest in Romantic period music, Sonia is also actively researching into Raga and microtonal music.
She is currently composing a series of studies based on different Ragas to enable her to create orchestral and choral music with the sense of intermittent flavours and colours of Raga scales and phrases. One of her goals is to create choral music in Vedic Sanskrit.
